Will joining the Navy improve my leadership skills and confidence?
I have always been kind of an unconfident and unassertive person.. Will joining the Navy or Navy reserves as an officer allow me to work on improving this at all?

Joining any military branch will teach you vital leadership skills as well as increasing your confidence. First you will learn how to be a good follower, once you have reach a point in your career that your are ready to lead you will be placed in a position which allow you to hone and expand your leadership skills.
Any field of service will do this if you want it to. You must be very committed because it is very hard to achieve officer status in the military. This is not something you want to go into lightly it is a very big commitment. I would talk to your parents and other adults before I went to a recruitment office. But yes you will learn these skills and will be able to carry them out really well if you apply yourself 100%.
