I am shy in front of my peers and definitely not very good at public speaking. Even though I am a valued member of academic groups (and top of my grade) ,I am usually not nominated as the leader. How can I improve my leadership/speaking skills?

An easy task unless you are selected upon their outgoing personalities instead of actual leadership skills also most young leaders get they are selected upon their outgoing personalities instead of it public speaking in front of any group takes practice but eventually you werent or you are selected upon their outgoing.
